I saw your message on the Delmarva list and will try to answer your question. William W. West and Vianna G. Godwin were married about 1825 in Virginia. William W. West was the son of Charles C. West and Joanna Dunton and was born about 1802, probably in Northampton County, Virginia. William W. West and his wife, Vianna G. Godwin had 1 daughter named Clara Joanna West who was born about 1826.

I have not established where he died but would expect that William W. West died in Virginia, as his widow married as her second husband John W. Leatherbury. They were married on 26 Sep 1840 and had a son named Thomas Esau Leatherbury, born 31 Oct 1843 in Northampton County, VA.

I wouldn't expect this is your William West but I'm not sure. Does any of this ring a bell?
