I missed the initial query regarding Robert F. Bowen. I am pretty sure this
is Robert Fleming Bowen, son of James Bowen and Mary Polly Truitt, and
brother of my Elizabeth Richards Bowen, who married Seth Whaley, son of
Thomas Whaley & Margaret Bratten, of DeKalb Co TN. Elizabeth Richards Bowens
grandparents were Whittington Bowen & Lavina Fleming; and Pattey Truitt &
Rachel Jenkins.

I am interested in contacting who ever had the initial query. As James Bowen
is still alive in the third district in 1820, his wife Mary is head of the
household in 1830. Seth and Elizabeth are married by 1830. Since most of
Elizabeth's family appear to have remained in Worcester Co, I can only assume
that Seth returned to Worcester Co on a bride hunting expedition. Other
than knowing, I think, that James did not have a will, I hope some day to
search for a probate record for him in Worcester Co.

I also have originals of two letters written by Robert F. Bowen to Elizabeth
and Seth in the 1830s. My information comes from correspondence to my Aunts
in the 1940s or 1950s, from a Mrs. Bowman, who is quoting from Littleton
Purnell Bowen, son of Robert F. Bowen.

Best Regards,

Janet Hunter
