Subject: RE: [LDR] owner ship of the burial plots!

OK, but the implication of your message seemed to be that landowners can do
what they will with graveyards on their property. This very far from the
truth and needs to be expressed to every landowner who has such a property
that it is his/her legal obligation not to tamper with a graveyard in an
adverse manner. Secondly, but I will defer to Shari for an official "call",
I think that protection of graveyards on Lower Delmarva is well within the
discussion bounds of this mailing list. One huge tool of the lower Delmarva
genealogist is reading old cemetery stones to gain insights into research.
There is even a CEMTREK trip planned every year on this list to do just
that - go out and record old cemeteries before they are lost to history.
Like I say, this is just my opinion but I did not see a problem with the
posting.
Thanks,
Mike Hitch

Mike,
Lets get the facts straight,
sheila said they where logging off,
That is a far cry from digging up, ect.
I suggest that if she is so all concerned, that agian she purchase the
property.
I think if you will get more facts here, you will be surprised to what is
really happening.
For example, how many acres is being logged, how close to her graves, ect.
but agian this is way off topic!
Has she talked to the loggers?
Perhaps Alt.savethe graves is where this should be.
