Hi,
A very kind list reader just found for me a listing for the marriage of my
great grandparents, Emma Thomas & William Chelton, November 3, 1884, Somerset
Co., MD. The minister is named as Rev. J. S. Bowers. I have checked the
listing of ministers of the Annemessex Circuit of the Methodist Episcopal
Church (in Col. Wilson's 'Quindocqua, Indian Country'), which included the
church they joined after their marriage, and do not find a Rev. Bowers. Can
anyone tell me what church he might have presided over in 1884, and where it
would have been located? Or does anyone else have him listed in connection
with some other family groups, with associated locations or neighbors?
