Subject: [LDR] Looking for "Captain Jack's at Riverside"
Date: Fri, 9 May 2003 16:49:16 -0400
We have three family photos taken at Captain Jack's. One picture has our
ggmother Margaret Ann Hadaway Goodman with her sister-in-law Emma Woodmender
Goodman and a man named "Captain Jack." One is just of Captain Jack. The
third is his home and it's labelled "Captain Jack's at Riverside." Having
those ladies in the photo leads me to believe that Captain Jack lived
somewhere near Quaker Neck Wharf in Chestertown MD, but "Riverside" could be
almost anywhere. (I've eliminated Riverside Park in South Baltimore (Fort
St. area) because it's landlocked.)
This home appears to be on the water -- big front porch and no back porch --
a cape with chimneys at each end.
Outbuildings in back on the left. Fence out back looks like something to
keep horses.
Anyone run into "Captain Jack's Riverside" in their travels?
(Other photos from Sinnickson, Pocomoke, could put the family there as well
as Chestertown.)
