Indeed this is more than correct. As a local, my family (on both sides) has
lived on the shore for close to 300 years. Many of my relatives have been
forced to sell farm land and homes that have been part of our heritage for
long times due to the price of the land, taxes and what not. Of course,
some sold for the riches, but in reality farming (at least on the eastern
shore side of the peninsula) is being sold out to the man. It is quickly
becoming the end of an era.
