Edwin, Here's what the abstract says...
LONGS LOTT:
Surveyed for William Stevens 20 Apr 1680, assigned to Samuel Long on west
side of a beaver dam branch at the head of Marumsco.
John Long (s/o Samuel) 100 acres.
Conveyances & Resurveys:
2 June 1713: Marshall from Randall Long & exec. 100 acres.
26 May 1744: John White Jr. from George Marshall, 44 acres (by the
name of
"Exchange."
18 July 1746: Cornelius Riggen from John White Jr., 44 acres (this
part and 16
acres of "Ledbourn" and named "Exchange").
9 Feb 1748: Robert King Jr. from George Marshall, Samuel Long & his
wife Sarah,
and Thomas Cottingham and Mary his wife; 85 acres (part of this
and
"Ledbourn" and named "Late Purchase."
14 Sep 1752: Thomas King from Cornelius Riggin, Samuel Long, Thomas
Cottingham, 44 acres (this part & 16 acres of "Ledbourn" named
"Addition
to Late Purchase" survey returned by Thomas Gillis.
Longs Lott is the only tract of names you gave me that I could find in the
index. Here's what is listed for James Langrell (notice the difference in
spelling):
THE WORST IS PAST
Surveyed 25 Oct 1666 for James Nicholson, lying on a ridge between the
Manokin
and Little Monie.
Possessors: James Langrell (in the behalf of orphans), 50 acres.
Conveyances & Resurveys:
no date: Thomas Wright resurveyed for Wright by the same name, 50
acres (?)
(folio 54, Additional Rent Rolls).
Not sure what that meant, but Worst is Past is not in the index for tract
names. You could order the actual documents from the Maryland State Archives,
as abstractors have been known to make a mistake here or there. These came
from microfilm MSA SR 4380. This book was only the first volume, so obviously
not all lands are included.
Hope this has been of some help.
