Looking for Levi Floyd (born abt 1760) supposedly born in Rappanoche County
VA to Samuel William Floyd and Barbara House. But there was no Rap Co, old
or new, at that time, and as Levi appears in Worcester Co MD, I think it was
probably Accomack county. His wife shows up variously as Mary Boston and
Nancy Boston from Maryland (sometimes Baltimore).

Levi bought land in Worcester Co MD in 1792 (from Thomas Rowles with wife
Amelia Rowles . . .17 3/4 acres of Kickotan Choice & Adventure) and 1796
(from Ballard Blades. . ."all that part of the tract of land the one called
Traughton's Shore and the other called Adventure which is situate lying and
being in Worcester County"). In 1796 he purchased many household goods from
a William Floyd ("one black stud horse, one sorrel mare & colt, seven head
of cattle, two plows, two harrows, three beds & furniture, four sheep, two
pots, twenty dear skins, two chests, one box of bottles, ten head of hogs,
five hundred gallons cyder, three axes, twenty casks, five thousand bricks
and one pair wedges[?], one grind stone, one cart & wheels, thirty barrels
beer, ten bushels wheat, three stacks oats, nine stacks fodder"). In 1798
Levi sold some of his land and by 1799 he and a William Floyd were on the
tax list in Woodford county, Kentucky. Levi and wife died in Shelby co KY.

Levi and his wife also appear in a will:
Woodford Co KY Will Book C, page 52-55; Written 16 Jan 1807, probated 5 or
15 Aug 1807.
Elizabeth Grunby [Gunby?] of Woodford County Kentucky
Cousin, John Smith; John Long, Sr.; Friend, Levi Floyd; John Riggin; Beggy
[Peggy] Evans, wife of Henry Evans; Friend Nancy Floyd, wife of Levi Floyd;
Niece Sarah Bedworth, dau of Mary Bedsworth, dec'd. [Betsworth?]

My questions:
1. Who are Levi's parents? The Wm who sold him his goods or someone else? I
can't find a Samuel at all, but he could have used his middle name of
William. The Wm sale could have been a brother moving to Kentucky. Is there
a House family in the area that I have missed?
2. Who are Mary/Nancy Boston's parents? Two possibilities: Solomon and
Elizabeth Litchfield, who have daughters Mary and Nancy born in the right
time frame (c1770). Maybe Levi married sisters? But the closest neighbors
were Jacob Boston and Eleanor Bentsen, who had a daughter Nancy born c1770
and who then disappears from the record. But has anyone ever heard of the
name Mary being a nickname for Nancy?

I've worked on this family for six years and we are planning a trip to
Salisbury next year, but I'm hoping someone on this list has come across
something--anything!!!--that might give me some leads. Thanks.
