To Jim Handy, my ggrandfather is Ebenezer HANDY West and he married Elizabeth Rebecca LeCompte daughter of John LeCompte and Rebecca Jones Lecompte. They lived in the Easton, Talbot County area.
Does this fit in your tree? Ebenezer was born in 1851 and died in 1887.
George West

Hi Michelle -
The information I have shows all of my LeComptes lived in Talbot County, but I suspect they descended from the Frenchman who settled in Dorchester County in 1659. I just don't have the links. The earliest LeCompte I have is Edward E who married Eleanor Leonard in 1830, in Talbot Co.
I was raised in and around Easton, MD, now live in VA. I still have LeCompte cousins in Talbot Co. Are you a LeCompte?
Jim Handy
