Subject: Census questions/ William Ward question

While looking through the 1850 census for Somerset County, MD--several questions have always popped into my mind. THe first one being where was the Brinkley's District, 1st Div? Is there nay way to decipher where the homes/properties were located? Also My gggf was Henry U. Ward, and according to family records was born in 1857 according to the census he was probably the some of William (of Z) HN327 FN327. What does- of Z. mean? that WIlliam's father's name started with "Z"?
Or as there is another Henry Ward, of a similar age in the same district, is there any way to find out what the Middle initial of these 2 Henry Wards are? If any one has any suggestions, please let me know. In the 1880 census, my ggf is listed, however the incorrect middle initial is listed, but the age, parnets and sibling "sort of" match--Gramps always referred to his brothers by their middle or nicknames.

Thanks

Ginny
