I have never posted before but recentlly found my ancestor was from this
area. It only took close to 40 years. May I ask if it's not too much trouble if
you can tell where this land is? My ancestor is James Burnett who as noted
below purchased 50 acres of Wooten Under Edge in 1729. He first appeared in a
tax list for Annemessex Hundred in 1723 prior to buying this land which is
noted by "A Somerset Sampler" as being in Pocomoke Hd. The mentioned book says
he lived adjacent to Isaac Wheeler.
At some point I would love to set food on this land even if only once. I
would appreciate any help you could give in regard to this. Please see mention
of survey below.
