I hate to question but how can you think that Telda listed in the 1880
census is the mother of Edward ...... since Edward's age in 1850, 60, and
70 do relate we can assume someone made a mistake in the 1880 census and he
should be between 62 - 65. That said "Telda" [ which of course sounds like a
nickname for Matilda ] is listed as 68 no way can she be his mother..... she
would have to be more like 86 ..... which would mean that the census taker
was as dyslexic as I am ....... another thing that bothers me is where is
she between 1850 where she may appear as Matilda age 38 [ therefore 68 in
1880] and 1880 -- I haven't found her in any census - maybe I haven't looked
hard enough...... and of course all this begs the question why if she is
Edward's sister is she listed as Matilda Burrows and the children's last
name is Hayes .

My other question is are you saying Rebecca's maiden name was Poor .......
was she Thomas and Mary Poor's daughter and how do we know that ???
