Walt, I don't know too much beyond the previous generation (and not enough
there). Joseph's parents were John A. Wharton and Elizabeth Freeman. I think
Elizabeth's parents were William Freeman and Ann Powell. Joseph and Lurana
moved to northeastern Illinois in the 1850s, but had lived in the Laurel
area when they were in Delaware. I realize that the couple might not even
have married in a church, and it's a shame that the form doesn't provide the
location as anything geographically more detailed than Sussex County
(although that's a lot better than nothing!).
