Wow, there seem to be some errors in the 1913 Wessels article. Here's one:

"3 ii. Harmanus, m. (i) Agatha Van Zalen; m. (2) Dec. 24, 1652,
Magdaleentje Duurkoop, young woman of Amsterdam."

This marriage actually took place in New York Dutch Reform Church in 1683!
1683 31 Jan; Hermanus Wessels, wid Agtha van Zalen; Magdeleentje
Duurkoop, jd van Amsterdam

This here also makes me wonder:

"6 v. Christina, m. (i) Barent Cours, May 16, 1675."

Here's the NY record:
1675 30 May; Barent Cours, w. d. van Annetje Jans; Christina Wessels,
jd van Dordrecht, beyde wonende alhier

My question would be, why is this supposed daughter of Metje Boonen
marrying so much later than the other supposed siblings, married in
the 1650's? And another question -- why is she from Dordrecht (which
is south of Rotterdam), when the other sibs are supposedly from
Utrecht?

Baptisms of New Amsterdam Dutch Reform Church my help sort out which
Wessels were which. Try here:

I'm working on it (again) but it looks like a long row to hoe, and
probably won't see the end of it today.
