NORTHBRIDGE, MASS. - Isabel R.(Paul)Corkum, 75, of 224 Goldthwaite Road,
Whitinsville, Mass., died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 in the Saint Camillus
Health Center, 447 Hill St., following an illness. Her husband, Lloyd G.
Corkum, died January 16.
She is survived by a son, Randy Corkum, of Yarmouth; a daughter, Susan
Myers, of Whitinsville; a sister, Betty Tiedt, of Saugus, Mass.; and six
grandchildren. A brother, Charles Paul; and a sister, Rhoda Bixby,
Mrs. Corkum was born, June 26, 1927 in Lowell, Mass., a daughter of the
late Charles and Leila (Sullivan) Paul.
She grew up in Waltham, Mass., and lived years in Watertown, Mass.,
before moving here in 1992. She graduated from Waltham High School. She
was a secretary at the Waltham VNA, before retiring in 1992. She
previously worked more than 20 years at Waltham Hospital as secretary of
the Maintenance Department. Following her retirement, she worked
part-time at the Northbridge Senior Center.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Watertown, and was
Mother Advisor to the Watertown Assembly, Order of Rainbow. She
travelled extensively, and she enjoyed needle point.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Carr
Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville. www.carrfuneralhome.com
Following cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14, in the funeral home. In
