Hi members,
This is kind of nice; can't do roll calls on my other German lists; everyone gets upset!!
MICHEL/MICHAELS:
Gustav and Augusta Woldt Michaels came to the US in 1884 and settled first in Solvay, NY; then in Clay, NY; Onondaga County. Unsure of their birthplace in Germany. They had the following children, only the 1st born in Germany: Otillie, Frederick, Herman Gustav, Augusta, August Julius, George, Albert.
WOLDT:
Fred and Emma Woldt, August and Magdalene Woldt, Wilhelm Woldt. Wilhelm was born in Schneidemuhl. August and wife stayed in Solvay, NY; Fred Woldt moved to Madison, WI. These were siblings to Augusta Woldt Michaels. Believe the parents were Wilhelmine and Wilhelm Woldt. Some evidence of Wilhelmine in Onondaga County, NY. Believe some of these people are buried in York, WI.
MICHEL:
Wilhelm Michel. In the 3rd Pomeranian Regiment. Lived in Stralsund, Germany in 1876. No other info, believe he was possibly brother to Gustav Michaels.
WIRTH:
John Henry Wirth. Have not started this line yet; he was German. Wife was Mary Engelhardt Wirth. Children: John, Edward, Henry, Florence, Arthur, Regina.
DREWS:
Wilhelmine Drews. Believe this is the maiden name of Wilhelmine Woldt. Have a German-Lutheran songbook with her name in it and a date of 1850.
All of these families were Lutheran. Have had difficulty finding the church attended by Gustav and Augusta. Believe whichever one it was, it is no longer in Syracuse, NY....
Thank you,
Kelly Michaels
