RICHARD LYON born 1790 in Caswell co. N.C. s/o Richard Tankersly
Lyon and his first wife <unknown> died unknown and married
unknown.Richard may have moved to Sumner Co Tenn with his father
around 1820. This is not proven.
Richard's children are not proven but William Carroll Lyon has been
designated as his son.
WILLIAM CARROLL LYON born 08 Jan. 1822 Madison Co. Tenn
died 11 Dec. 1895 Moseley Yell co. Ark. and is buried in Lyon
Cemetery, Yell Co. He married Sarah E. Campbell d/o Robert Campbell
& Sarah T, Lyon.
Sarah T. Lyon is a d/o Richard Tankersly Lyon and his second wife
Sarah Nichols.
Sarah E. Campbell was born 16 Aug. 1830 Gibson Co. Tn and died 13
Apr. 1894 in Yell Co. Ar also buried in Lyon Cemetery.
Their children were:

1872 Yell Co AR to John T. Simmons. it is possible that she
remarried after John died.

1879 Yell Co. and married 06 Dec. 1874 Yell Co to Odelia Bennett
[4] EMILY CAMPBELL LYON b. 1854 in Ar and died 1895 in Ark.
married 06 Dec. 1875 Yell Co to William A. Ward
[5] ANNIE H. LYON b. 1855 Yell Co and died 1931 buried
Roselawn Cemetery Pulaski Ar. married 18 oct. 1889 Yell Co to P.
Thomas Simmons
[6] IRVING ALEXANDER LYON b. 04 Feb. 1856 Moseley Yell Co Ar
died 15 Apr. 1901 Delaware Twp Logan, Ar. buried Lyon Cem. Yell Co

married 11 July 1879 Dardanelle Yell co to Julia B. McDonald. It
is possible that there was a remarriage.

Yell Co. married 03 June 1889 Yell co to William May Pledger.

NOTES === William C. Lyon purchased a farm from James S Jones on 20
Dec, 1851 He set aside two acres of land to be used for church
purposes. this location was about 5 miles west of Dardanelle and about
one fourth mile south of State Hiway 27 Lyon was a leading
Presbyterian in his community and started the first water mill to grind
bread. This land was finally converted into a family cemetery used by
the Washington County Haney and Lyon Families <from> " A History of
Yell Co. Ark. by Wayne Banks."
