Lisa,
I don't recognize any of your Lyons/Bernard names. I first find my earliest ancestor in Franklin
County, PA around 1800 and his hame was Benjamin Lyons. After that he moved to the area of Blair
and Bedford County, PA. None of Benjamin's children are named Lucy. I do know that Benjamin was a
either mulatto or black and was a runaway slave. I am assuming his father was white but I don't
know that for sure. Benjamin married a white woman and so did his son, James H. Lyons. All of the
descendants I've found have been white so many of them "passed" very early on. If any of this
sounds familiar to you, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Benjamin found safety at Snow Hill (Nunnery) and from there became bound to Jacob Snowberger until
he was 28 years old.
Sincerely,
Rose Mary
