Hi Doug,
sorry but it doesn't sound familiar to me at all. The Lyon's family that I am researching seems to have originated in New York ( well, that's as far as I have found so far anyhow), eventually ended up in Pennsylvania and from there to the Markham/Vaughan area, York County, Ontario. The farthest back that I have would be John Lyon's (who married Elizabeth Horton) father by the name of Thomas if I recall correctly.
