Rebecca,

The lists are for the discussion of the subject matter. Warnings are
not sent because they, like spam, propagate through the system so
that many people get the same message repeatedly thus unnecessarily
stressing the system.

If a general warning needs to go out, then RW can incoprorate it in
RootsWeb Review, or it can send an appropriate message to an
appropriate forum, eg. to listowners, webpage owners and the like.

With respect to people taking offence, it is going to happen even if
you are really nice and you can only be as nice as possible. I have
given up bending to subscribers petty demands, they either like the
service or they don't. If they don't want to stay that is their
business and their choice.
