They were from http://uscode.house.gov (searched under words "dosclosure of
wire"):

CHAPTER 119 - WIRE AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS INTERCEPTION AND

INTERCEPTION OF ORAL COMMUNICATIONS"

Steve was quoting the wire-tapping law which has been extended to cover
electronic communications. It appears to me that the use of this law as
justification is extremely thin.
