Walter, you didn't send anything except "done". If your MCELLIGOTT-L List is
one of the older Lists, this is what it should look like:

X-command: password showdist

Notice that there is no "-L" after the name of the List. To check the -L List,
you send the command to ; to check the -D
List, you send to .

If your List is at @lists3.rootsweb.com, you would use that domain name instead
of the @rootsweb.com above; same for any other domain name, such as
@sports.rootsweb.com, for some of the new non-genealogy Lists.

I never use the "done" in my X-Commands, but make sure that there is absolutely
nothing else in the body of the text except the command.

Some Listowners have List names that make the X-Command too long to fit on one
line, and the line gets "wrapped", which will not work. To solve this, split
the line with a "hard" return and indent the second line ONE space, e.g.:

X-command: password
showdist

Now a question for me about the new Lists, both genealogy and non-genealogy. I
have found that I cannot receive a "showdist" for the -D formats of the
Lists. Does anyone else have problems with this?
