you mention.

It's intended to stop folks who crosspost to oodles of lists: most of that
is spam, but even legitimate users who try to crosspost (believe it or not)
to 100 or 200 lists at a time are generally misguided; very little is truly
"on topic" *and* "appropriate" for 200 lists at a time. (If it is, odds are
you should be backing up and posting on a higher level list---for example,
the state list instead of every county list, or ROOTS-L instead of every
state list.)

How does this crossposting-blocker work? I hope it won't affect messages
where folks post to several alternate spelling surname lists.
