Subject: [LO] A request to other LOs

The former LO of a list I now have was removed from all of his
lists and boards for using them to sell his CDs and for not doing
any of the admin chores. This week he wrote and asked if he could
post about his new CD on the list. I said *no* because I truly do
not feel this is appropriate. (His CDs are a compilation of info he has
picked up from boards, lists, and individual contributors, which he is
selling.) Today he posted it anyway and I put him on permanent
Reject. I have requested that RW also put him on universal reject.
The rub is, he sent an apology that said "I contacted a number of other
Mailing List Facilitators to request their approval and, without exception,
they agreed. So today, I started sending the message to the various Lists
and accidentally... " My concern is whether or not other LOs really are
allowing this type of post, or if this is just an excuse. If we are being
inconsistent, then it is an issue for RW/Ancestry/MyFamily to work on.
If *we* can't figure out what to allow, how can our poor confused listers
figure it out?
Seeing red in California,
Sharyn
