Hi,

I am trying to resolve a major "lack of information or sources" in my
genealogical research into Lawrence Springer who married Martha Hicks of
Little Compton/Portsmouth, Rhode Island in the mid to late 1600's (New
England). We have establish a POD of Springer researchers to help coordinate
information for our publication to our web pages).

Lawrence/Martha had 12 children from what has been gathered from land,
probate, and vital records of Newport, Portsmouth Rhode Island and Little
Compton, Bristol County, Massachusetts during the time frame of 1645-1790.
Tiverton/Little Compton became part of Rhode Island in 1746/7.

(Children of Lawrence & Martha Springer of Massachusetts Bay Colony after
becoming Rhode Island)

Order of births: (missing numbers/names have been completed)

CHILDREN:
4. Elizabeth Springer, b. 1675, m. Unknown, d. Unknown
5. Benjamin Springer, b. 1676, m. Unknown d. Unknown
7. Mary Springer, b. 1680, m. Thomas Weaver ????
8. Waddy (possible Rhoda) Springer, b. 1682, m. Unknown, d. Unknown....(son
named: Jeremiah)
10. Edward Springer, b. March 1685, m. Desire Gorham
11. Thomas Springer, b. March 1685, m. Unknown
12. Martha Springer, b. 1686, m. Unknown

There is a large Springer offspring in Essex County, Massachusetts and
Boston based on land transfers, and probate records in Essex County Court
House, Massachusetts.

The Essex County Springer clan appears to be heavily involved in the
Merchant trade business from records at the Peabody
Museum,Salem,Massachusetts. Also some of the Springer's moved to the lower
part of Maine which was part of Massachusetts.

Trying to resolve the 1st Springer generation by completing everyone in the
family, then proceeding to the 2nd generation of Springer's in New England.
Timeframe...(1650-1790_{The first federal census}.)

If you have ANY information (specially with sources) please reply to this
message.
