Although there are several Richardson's listed in my books, none of them
were married to Smeads. However, Deerfield was a small community and the
families intermarried a lot down through the generations. For instance, the
HAWKS
and SMEADS intermarried in the 17th, and 18th centuries quite a lot,
Possibly
your ancestor was either related to Smeads, or the families were close
friends.
