With all due respect Rev. Keith, the site Ms Schreiber refers to is a
collection of transcribed information from actual articles and or books,
scanned images of actual documents all having sources not unlike the History
of Grafton which I have visited on many an occasion.

I have gone into my web site The History of Marlborough" to locate the area
in which Ms. Schreiber indicates that "IN RE: the Henry Kerley he states as
the progenitor of that family - He has taken the dates of Capt. Henry's
son Henry, Jr. and used them as those of the father's - Capt. Henry".

I have been unable to locate this phrase and cannot locate anything remotely
close to it. I have however responded and ask that she provide me the url
address for the page that she sees it on.

As for the book from which "Henry Kerley's" genealogy was transcribed from,
it was published in 1862 and written by Mr. Charles Hudson who, if I may be
so bold as stating, is more than likely not among us any more.

All of the information in the web site is sourced and the source is clearly
stated.

I would probably not change anything in the web site which has been sourced
unless the source of new information was provided which it has not been.

My only goal here was to provide information and sources for the history of
our city Marlborough.

One must remember that Marlborough was the most westerly settlement in Mass
Bay Colony and from here they or their children went west or even southwest
as can be derived by the statement in The History of Grafton. " In 1727,
forty men, mostly from Marlborough, Sudbury, Concord, and Stow, petitioned
the court to purchase the area that would eventually become known as
Grafton."

Sincerely, John Buczek

Judy,

I would suggest you write to the publisher of the book, stating the
error clearly and concisely, and giving the correct information, being sure
to carefully cite the sources of your data. That way the publisher may
correct the error in future editions of the book (if any are planned). I
don't think once the book has been published, that the author has much to do
with it anymore. I may be wrong, but that may be why you haven't gotten a
response to your correspondence with the author. Best of luck in your cause,
it would be doing future genealogists a favor, big time!
