My ancestor is supposedly buried at Long Island Cemetery after being removed from Rainsford Island, Boston Harbor.

>From "A Guide to Massachusetts Cemeteries," page 26--
Long Island Hospital Cemetery (1893)
"Long Island, Boston Harbor, no marked gravestones aside from numbered lot stones."

In my opinion I don't think you could find anything on those buried there.
I'm not from Boston, but believe the cemetery is no longer accessible to visitors.

Message Board Post:

Does anyone know if there is an online transcription database of the old cemetery located on Long Island off the coast of Boston, Massachusetts?

All I know at the moment is that it has the graves of Rev. War, War of 1812, Civil War and up to possibly WWII soldiers.

I am looking in particular for ANY grave transcription for a James Overn that was buried in the Boston Long Island cemetery.

Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, Patricia Quinn
