James D. PIOLI formerly of WESTFORD

James D Pioli age 73, died at his home in Cocoa Beach, FL. Formerly of Somerville and Westford. Survived by wife Arlene (Perry), two sons, William J. and J. Edward (Cindy) of Concord MA, the late Audrey Anne and 7 grandchildren. Brother of Daniel Pioli of Westford, Francis Pioli of Leesburg, FL, Diana Wyatt of Marlborough NH.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon Sat. April 23 at St. Anthony's Church, Cardinal Medeiros Way, Cambridge, MA.

Dorice ZWICKER of WESTFORD

Dorice B. (Baker) Zwicker, a Westford resident for 45 years, died Wednesday, April 13, at her home. She was the wife of the late Homer A. Zwicker. Mrs. Zwicker was born in Waverly, MA, February 13, 1920, Daughter of the late Alden and Alida Baker.

She was a graduate of Lexington High School. During WWII she worked at the Bath Metal Iron Works in Maine, supporting the war effort. Mrs. Zwicker was Vice President of H. A. Zwicker, Inc. in Bedford, MA where she was well known by the skating community. Dorice also enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by three sons: Gary Zwicker of Westford, Lee and his wife Marie of Sullivan, ME, and Wayne Zwicker of Tyngsboro. Three daughters: Joan Gatzimas and husband George, Wendy Darragh, and Jill Giavis, all of Westford. A brother, Donald Baker and wife Sandra of Foxboro. Six grandchildren: Jazmine Gramer, Alicia Darragh, Bill and Alex Giavis, Shelby Dona and Kristen Adrian. Three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow.

John F. "Jack" O'BRIEN of WESTFORD

Jack O'Brien, died April 15, 2005, formerly of Quincy. Husband of Barbara M. (White). Loving son of Dorothy A. (Lufkin) O'Brien of Marlboro and the late George F. O'Brien. Brother of Annemarie McGuire of Arizona and the late Paul F. O'Brien. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the John G. Molloy Funeral Home, 1126 Washington St. Dorchester Lower Mills, DORCHESTER, Thursday April 21 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Hills Church, Milton at 10:15 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Parking in rear of funeral home. Interment private.

Late vet US Marine Corps. Late member of St. Kevin's Emerald Knights Drum & Bugle Corps and active member of the Drum Corps international organizations. Late area VP Eastern Regional Sales, Sunrise Medical.

Eleanor J. HOLLERAN of WESTFORD

Eleanor J. (Tasonis) Holleran, 66, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at her home. She was the wife of Michael P. Holleran.

She was born in Boston's Brighton on Feb. 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Williams and Josephine (Rumulsky) Tasonis. Mrs. Holleran lived in Westford since 1979.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Alan W. Daukantas and his wife, Gail, of Tewksbury, and Larry Daukantas and Karen Mays of Stanton, Va.; four daughters, Elizabeth Becthal and her husband, Tony, in California, Valerie Butler and David Duffy of Westford, Phyllis Ann Cormier and her husband, Steve, of Littleton, and Laurie Pedro and her husband, Jeff, of Winchendon; and five grandchildren.

She was also the mother of the late Robert Daukantas.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 14, in St. Anne's Church, 75 King St., Littleton.

Lorraine A. PETULLO formerly of WESTFORD

Lorraine A. "Pee Wee" (Rioux) Petullo, 82, a Westford native, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at her son's home in Seabrook, N.H., following a brief illness. She was the wife of Joseph Petullo, who died in 1998.

She was born in Westford, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Boudreau) Rioux. Mrs. Petullo attended Westford schools.

Mrs. Petullo was employed in various mills in the Lowell area. She also worked for the city of Lowell as a teacher's aide at the Colburn School.

She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church.

Mrs. Petullo enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Gary J. Petullo and his wife, Debra, of Seabrook, N.H., and Donald Petullo of Lowell; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte Perocchi of Lawrence, Marie Geary of Nashua, N.H., and Patricia Ralls of North Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service in celebration of her life was held May 6, at the Mahoney Funeral Home in Lowell. Burial was private.

Josephine D. GILMAN formerly of WESTFORD

Josephine D. Gilman, 92, of Londonderry, NH, formerly of Westford and Carlisle, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H. She was the wife of the late Richard Gilman, who died in 1990.

She was born in Holliston on May 11, 1912, the daughter of the late Sidney and Lydia (Higgins) Dowdell. Mrs. Gilman had lived in Greater Lowell before moving to Londonderry.

Mrs. Gilman was a featured writer for the Worcester Telegram and Yankee Magazine.

She also played live piano for WBZ Radio in Boston. She had worked as an antique dealer with her husband, and had also designed and sold handmade Christmas decorations.

Mrs. Gilman cared for her husband for 35 years during his struggle with Parkinson's disease.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Dadian and her husband, Al, of Londonderry, N.H., and Anne Gutheil of Carlisle; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held May 6, at the Fairview Cemetery, Westford.

Patricia A. MILLIGAN of WESTFORD

Patricia A. (Crowe) Milligan, 58, died Sunday, May 15, 2005. She was the wife of David D. Milligan.

She was born in Gardner on Sept. 15, 1946, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ann (Stevenson) Crowe. Mrs. Milligan grew up in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School, Class of 1964. She attended Boston University. She lived in Boston, Amherst, N.H., Littleton, and settled in Westford for the past 28 years.

Mrs. Milligan enjoyed skiing, traveling, gardening, and most enjoyed being a grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, David C. Milligan of Campton, N.H.; a daughter, Brenna McIlwrath and her husband, Dean, of Brookline, N.H.; three grandchildren; and a sister, Sharlene Paakki in Oregon.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today, May 19, at the First Parish United Church, 48 Main St., Westford. There were no calling hours. Burial will be in Westminster.

Arrangements were under the care of the Badger Funeral Home, Littleton.

Michael J. LORDEN II of WESTFORD

Michael J. Lorden II, 22, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 15, 2005, at his home.

He was born in Leominster on July 22, 1982, the son of Michael J. "Mickey" and Gail R. (Ryan) Lorden of Westford. Mr. Lorden lived most of his life in Westford.

Mr. Lorden graduated from Westford Academy in 2001, where he was an outstanding student athlete. In addition to playing basketball, he was a two-time member of The Sun's all-star team and former captain of the Westford football team. He went on to play football for Wagner College in New York City's Staten Island.

He enjoyed sports and spending time with his teammates. Mr. Lorden enjoyed his family and friends, and was always ready with a helping hand and a kind word. He enjoyed vacationing on the lake and in Florida. He also enjoyed fishing and lifting weights.

Mr. Lorden was employed as a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning technician for several area contractors, including Lorden Oil Co. in Ayer, Hamel and McCallister, Co., in Burlington, and Nissitisit VAC Co. in Pepperell.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Julie A. Lorden of Westford; his paternal grandfather, Timothy J. Lorden Sr. of Pepperell; his girlfriend, Stephanie Merrill of Groton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services and burial were private.

Michael D. HICKEY of WESTFORD

Michael D. Hickey, 60, a longtime Westford resident, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, in Boston. He was the husband of the late Irma (Swim) Hickey, who died in 2001.

He was born in Cambridge, the son of the late Thomas P. and Gladys (DiGregorio) Hickey. Mr. Hickey had lived in Westford for the past 27 years.

Mr. Hickey was employed in the printing industry for more than 40 years, and for the past 30 years worked at Ames Color File in Somerville.

He is survived by three sons, Michael P. Hickey and his wife, Debbie, of Billerica, Adam D. Hickey, and Thomas W. Hickey, both of Westford; three daughters, Kimberly A. Williamson and her husband, Charles, of Pepperell, Debbie A. Bailey and her husband, Kenneth, of Pelham, N.H., and Danielle S. Hickey of Westford; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, John Hickey and his wife, Fran, of Billerica; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of Scott Hickey, who died in 1994.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today, May 19, at St. Catherine's Church, 107 North Main St., Westford. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the care of the Healy Funeral Home, Westford.
