I suspect Rowland went on to Plympton to live.

Ref: DAR Patriot Index 1966 pg 299 has:
George Hammond b. 24 Jun 1734; d. 14 Jan 1782 m1) Lucy Sturtevant; m2)
Betsey Thomas. He was a Capt. accredited to MA.
