I'm assuming you meant to say Thomas WHITE rather than Thomas Thayer. Joseph
WHITE and Lydia COPELAND did have a son named Thomas, b. 1688, who m. Deborah
READ. Is this the Thomas you are looking for?
Vital Records of Mendon Massachusetts to the Year 1850, NEHGS, Boston, 1920,
shows the following:
WHITE, William m. Elizabeth THAYER, 3 August 1721.
WHITE, William m. Elizabeth BRUMMEL, 16 November 1749.
The William White to Jerusha Metcalf marriage does not show up in this
source.
I also checked MA marriage index on FTM CD #231. No marriage for this couple
here either. There were a number of William White marriages in the state of
MA but only one Jerusha Metcalf and she wasn't married until 1780 -- in
Franklin.
