Morning All Listers,
Hopefully all listers are now receiving the MA.. Mendon list mail!!!!
Now this list had NO mail for months.. If there are no postings, u
don't receiver mail from the list.. The first message in many months
was on Jan. 27th from David B. .. No one received mail, if there was no
posting.. WEll anyway I am happy all is resolved now..
First Frank, I do not have a digital camera.. However I am having a
friend take pictures of the house from all angles for the MHS..
When I get them, be spring maybe, I will send you a copy, by mail
or however, I receive them..
Also I can check with the Committee to save the house about
pictures.. I certainly will keep u in mind.. That house is always
called the Smith House, cause Dr. Smith lived a nd practiced from
there for many years.. Although historically it is the Comestock
House..
The house was built in mid-19th century ; the home of Webster
Comsrtock and his son H. Comstock.. Along with Dennis and Leland
Comstock, H. ran a large boot factory, located behind the home..
This is written in the" Preserving Mendon's Character".. The comstocks
were the original owners iof this house.. I will keep my eyes open
and ask for a run down on who oiwned and lived there fbesides Dr.
Smith,,
I have to run now, will talk later and reply to other messages,
Have a nice day,
Alice
