Quite awhile back, we had a bit of a discussion about Eliba Albee and Abigail
Chilson. I am still trying to identify her parents. Since they ended up in
Tuscarora, Steuben Co., NY, I did a bit of checking there. I was hoping there
would be a mention of her parents or that the names of her children and
grandchildren would provide some clues. However, it is still a mystery! Below is
what I have pieced together. I thought someone else on this list might be
interested.

Descendants of Eliba ALBEE
Generation No. 1

1. ELIBA2 ALBEE (EBENEZER1) was born 16 June 1780 in Mendon, Worcester,
Massachusetts (Source: Vital Records of Mendon, MA, to the Year 1850, (NEHGS,
Boston, 1920), page 11.), and died 22 April 1857 in Tuscarora, Steuben, New York
(Source: Records of Bob Albee.). He married ABIGAIL CHILSON 4 October 1804
in Massachusetts or Rhode Island (Source: International Genealogical Index
(v5.0).). She was born 18 July 1785 in Glocester, Providence, Rhode Island
(Source: Records of Bob Albee, He says Burrillville but it didn't break off from
Glocester until 1806. Her birth is not found in Glocester or Burrillville
records.), and died 25 December 1862 in Tuscarora, Steuben, New York (Source:
Records of Bob Albee.).

Notes for ELIBA ALBEE:
Two different people have sent me lists of their children (born 1804 to 1830)
showing the eldest group born in Mendon, MA; the next group in Burrillville,
RI; the next group in Chenango Co., NY; the last child in Tuscarora, NY. I do
not find any births for children of this couple in Mendon or Burrillville.
The Historical Gazetteer of Steuben Co. agrees that they had eleven children.
And gives a few details for some of them -- which I have added to what was
sent to me. However, none of the information on the children is from primary
sources.

The Albees came from Smithville, Chenango Co., New York, with Rev. Aaron
Baxter, in about 1826/27. Rev. Baxter and his group were the founders of the
First Free Communion Baptist Church of Addison/Tuscarora, Steuben Co., New York.
Other families that came with this group included: Archibald Manley, George
Manley, Daniel Taft, Simeon Freeman, George Aldrich, Daniel Schoonover, etc.

Notes for ABIGAIL CHILSON:
I have not been able to identify her parents. Could she be a sister of
Jonathan Chilson who went to Steuben Co., NY? Her age is about right.

Worcester, Massachusetts. He married NANCY MITCHELL.

Burrillville, Providence, Rhode Island. She married SIMEON FREEMAN Abt. 1830. He was
born 21 October 1808 in Schuyler, Herkimer, New York (Source: Millard F.
Roberts, Historical Gazetteer of Steuben Co., NY, (Syracuse, NY, 1891), Part 1,
page 509.).

Notes for SIMEON FREEMAN:
He went to Chenango Co., NY, at age 16 (abt 1824) and from there he moved to
Tuscarora, Steuben Co. with Rev. Aaron Baxter of the First Free Communion
Baptist Church of Addison/Tuscarora.

CYNTHIA PIERCE 29 September 1850 in Tuscarora, Steuben, New York (Source:

Part 1, page 510.), daughter of DANIEL PIERCE. She was born 28 September 1824
