Susan,
I am finally getting around to your e-mail. I have a typed sheet for which
I did not write down the origin, but it may have been the Steuben Co.
Historical Society. It is headed "Albee family of Tuscarora, N. Y. It says
that it is a history given by Harrell Cook, written in 1895. It says that
Eleazer and Ruhama Washburn Albee had seven children, among them Eliba, who
was born in Mendon June 16, 1778. He married on Oct. 4, 1804 to Abigail
Chillson, daughter of Abner & Rhoda Farnham Chillson of Mass., born July 18,
1785. It says Eliba and Abigail lived in several places in Mass. & R. I.,
and in the autumn of 1819, emigrated from R. I. to Norwich, Chenango Co.,
then to Plymouth, Chenango Co. In the autumn of 1826, they removed to town
of Addison, now Tuscarora.
An Abner Chillson was listed in Gloucester, RI in the 1782 census. There is
a marriage in Glocester of Israel Brown, Jr., son of Benjamin of Glocester,
to Elizabeth Chillson of Uxbridge, son of Abner, Jan. 13, 1779. This what I
found on the NEHGS website. I could find no other record of the children of
Abner.
I will go through you record and compare it with mine.
