My apologies for forgetting to include my ancestor, William Bowen. He enlisted?at ?Uxbridge in Captain Lunt's company of Colonel Smith's brigade; but in his pension papers he stated he was returning home to Mendon. To date I have not found him listed in the Massachusetts 'tan books' of births, marriages nor deaths for either Mendon or Uxbridge. The only? information I have about where?he lived prior to enlistment?are those two?places above.? Also knowing where? Colonial Smith's brigade was raised, might help to discover more information abut possible living places.
? Thank you for the information. I'll be checking the Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors volumes, for when I first started out researching him, on Ancestry (When it was still affordable!) I did find his name, but with? your information, I will check them again and hopefully discover more. I have researched in the National Archives, but?without success in tracking?the units he was in.
??Clare

Good Afternoon:
It might help to know who your ancestor is for us to help you with the
regiments that he could have been a member of.
The MA Soldiers and Sailors volumes are on line one being Ancestry, and they
may also be on NARA's website too.
Here's what I found for just a quick look - not knowing your ancestor I
searched for RAWSON which I deal with.
Regards, Alison
