Greetings to you Ray and all other Barnstable County Researchers,
I am new to the list and am looking for information on the Rev. Nicholas
Baker (b. 1610) family in Barnstable. I am descended from Rev. Nicholas
Baker, through Samuel 1638, Nathaniel 1679, Nicholas 1711, Ebenezer
1736, Nathaniel 1761, John 1799, Albert 1836, Norman Sr. 1871, and my
father Norman Jr. 1906. Some of my questions follow:
Is the Lt. Ebenezer Baker spoken of in the Barnstable Militia during the
march to Falmouth in about 1777 the same as my Ebenezer born in 1736 in
Barnstable, MA?
Ebenezer and his family including his sons Nathaniel and Steven are
included in the 1790 census for Marshpee Plantation. I have not been
able to find much related to Marshpee. Does anyone know of a resource
for early history of this part of Barnstable County.
Also Nathaniel Baker b. 1761 I'm quite sure married a Thankful Fish b.
about 1763. Does anyone know anything about her and could she possibly
have been a child of Simeon and Mary Fish and the brother of Simeon Fish
Junior who married Nathaniel Baker's sister Dorcas?
I hope someone out their is an expert on the Baker clan.
Thanks for anything you might be able to share.
Have a great day,
Mike Baker
