Hi everyone,

I am in possession of a Waltham Gold Watch which was presented to my
gtgrandfather Edwin Jones (1846-1917) by the Ffestiniog Railway Company in
about 1915. The production number for the watch is 8117323, therefore
according to The Waltham Company Production Dates this watch was produced in
1897. The name on the movement is P J BARTLETT, whether he is the maker,
wholesaler or retailer I don't know. Perhaps this person is part of a
family that someone on the list is researching?

What I would like is to trace the exportation and paper trail of this watch
from Massachusetts to North Wales. Over the last few years I have tried the
obvious places like the Waltham schools, libraries etc., and the Ffestiniog
Railway Museum at http://www.ffestiniograilway.org.uk/ . I am in contact
with one of the volunteer curators of this museum and he has had no luck at
that end.

Eventually my aim is to donate this watch to the Ffestniog Railway Museum,
but before I do I would like to add some more provenance, for myself as well
as the museum.

I would appreciate any help or ideas in this quest.

TIA

Brian
