Thank you for your thoughtful reply to my query re. Chloe COLE, wife of
Lemuel GILMORE.

Unfortunately (for me, anyway), we can rule out Chloe, dau/o William &
Molly (GREENWOOD) COLE. The division of her father's estate includes these
words: "...we also found that Nathan NEWMAN and Chloe his wife daughter of
the deceased..."

Apparently, bot not completely ruled out, our Chloe was not dau/o Robert &
Deborah (NEWMAN) COLE of Raynham or Bernard & Mehitable COLE of Rehoboth,
or granddau/o John & Martha (BISHOP) HUNT.

You have Lemuel's birth correctly. I, too, found a transcribed listing of
him as Samuel, but a comparison of hand-written L and S shows how similar
they could be; Lemuel is correct in all other records, including family
papers.

Chloe's surname comes from their marriage intentions, filed 11 July 1778.

In addition to the 5 children you show listed in Raynham TR, a Gilmore
family Bible record includes Cynthia, b. 2 Feb 1790; Hannah, b. 2 Oct 1791;
Marinda, b. 24 Jan 1801; Lemuel, b. 21 Apr 1804.
