Hi Bob -
This is a great story. It's wonderful that you are
writing these down. I work with a woman who is
90. [Yes, I said work] She grew up on a farm in Upton
Massachusetts [worcester county]. She always tells
us stories about growing up then. You were talking
about walking to school in an earlier message. In
her neighborhood, there was a man who took all the
kids to school in a wagon in the winter. They had
blankets and heated bricks to keep them warm on
the way. An early school bus, I guess!
There is a photo of it a book put out by the Upton
Historical Society 10 or so years ago.
