Hi Jim , and Listers,
A lil while back someone had mentioned surname of DAKIN and I had
remembered seeing that name somewhere but couldn't remember where , well
heerrre it is tied in with my family ances-tree .


John Sidney THOMPSON b. ca 2 April 1836/1838 claims to have been born

in Boston / no birth record found.
s/o William & Elizabeth or Margaret (___?____)
At the time of 1st marriage was resident of Granville,Hampden,MA
1st m. 29 Nov. 1860 ~ Granby,Hartford,CT ~ Emily J. COWDREY d/o Phelps

& Emily HOLCOMBE (of Hartland,Hartford,CT)
2nd m. 20 Oct. 1885 Boston,MA to Florenia (Florence) Alrose MAYNARD
d. 25 October 1918 ~ Boston,MA

(I descend from THOMPSON/COWDREY line)

Florence Alrose Maynard b. 28 FEB 1856 East Boston, Suffolk,

Parents: Father: James Anderson Maynard > Mother: Margaret Catharine
Dakin
Death: 04 MAR 1928


I don't believe that John S. & Florenia had any children .
This was a man that didn't seem to sit still very long .
1860 in Granville,MA
1862 in Springfield ,MA
1865 in Newark ,NJ
(time lapse) may have gone to Hartford. School record of son George
Ambler indicates this.
1885 res. of California (widowed as of May 1885) not sure if he and
Emily ever divorced or just separated .
She (Emily J) apparently also resided at one time with his parents in
Chelsea (?). She was in Chelsea 1870 up until the time of her death .
She was a nurse.

aft. this I believe he resided in Chelsea, or Roxbury but definately
in the Boston area .(death cert.)

There are 2 goals I wish to accomplish by posting (1) to find the
appropriate parents of John Sidney /
and to know more about Florenia . (I have a picture of her but not of
John) He also went by the name of Sidney , and served twice in the
Civil War > once as John S. Thompson and 2nd as John S. Harding .

Any help to find further family(of all the above) records/history and
continue on with my THOMPSON lineage would be greatly appreciated.
