-back to N America for a day-

Patrons

James Patterson, b Co Antrim Ire in 1708. He migrated to the US in 1728
and settled in Lancaster Co Pa.
Mary Montgomery, b Ire came in 1732 to marry James P. . Marry Montgomery, came
with my William McComb to the US, (father to my Robert 1st and the other 6 brothers). All
were born in Ireland as far as I know.

William or also known as Thomas or B__LK b. 1685 Ant Ire. Bl__k is Generation 1
McComb Book, also known and notarized as ` A Genealogical Register
of the McComb Family in America` c 1912, by Peter Hathaway Kemper McComb.
This book and the lines in it are well known to many of us, how-ever I have the whole
book and I can tell you many parts have been left behind, simply because
the females married into other surnames, or perhaps kept heir own in some cases,
and is just not stated in the register.

Also some of the children have taken their mothers maiden names, even g-parents last names,
for example, many of us know Jan Robison from the McCombs List and her `Mc`Cain. Cain was
called Cain because it was his fathers last name, how-ever his g-parents name was McComb.
His full name was James Milchrist Cain McComb, and are registered
in the McComb Book, by g-son of a William and Sarah McComb.
I have been observing many postings around rootsweb on Nathaniel's and Samuel's,
( esp GREG whom I have'nt been able too assist yet, sorry, as Robert mentioned prior ).
Here is a possibility thru the other habits of our families, that a few `could` have taken their mothers
name ( ie. Jan Robison ). From this clip out of the McComb Book book p.115 .,states this >
their children were

William 1st, John Hannah, Mary,
Samuel,Isabelle, James 2nd, Elizebeth and Thomas.
William 1st m Rosanna Scott. Their children were Mary, Moses, Samuel, Thomas
(gen 1),and James. William 1 m Eliz Brown. Their Children were John, Rosanna, William 2
who married Jane McComb, Nathaniel, Rachel, Eliz, Josiah, Hannah, another Nathan, and Eleanor.
The above items were obtained from Mr George M Beck of Oak Park Illinois. The Patterson Register
was written by James Patterson Andrews, MD c 1840-1875, and is next on my wish-list for my next mission
to order further micro-films.

Ref > McComb Register, It was also very common that the siblings were b in different cities, even
states, also shows a migration pattern and routes across all parts of the US, also up too Canada. Most of our
families were forced to migrate which I will explain further in my next posting on the MacThomas's here in the
(USA ),via clips from the Hackett, Robby , Moon Genealogies.
Ancestors too one of the creators of the McComb Register, Mrs.Virginia McComb.
After that I plan post on the McCombs of West Chester Co NY,
later on too Lancaster Co Pa, Wash Co, then too all parts of the US also Canada.

The McComb Register shows examples of families adding the S at the end for various reasons.
( further information is available )

We have spending time researching Scotland to perhaps locate a passage from Scotland, thru Ire
to here (USA and Canada).

We are going about this in every direction, and all your help is needed, thank you
for you patience.
