Subject: [MAESSEX] Egypt River
Date: Sun, 08 Apr 2001 09:54:34 -0400

Someone had a question re the above and I lost the message. I'll try to help:

The Egypt River is a tributary of the north branch of the Parker River and
runs through that part of Rowley formally referred to as Ipswich Villiage.
Ipswich Village was, in fact, a part of Ipswich until 1785 when it was
annexed to Rowley.

Few maps identify the Egypt, as parts of it is what would be referred to as
a creek in most places. In some parts of its course, it serves as the
boundary between Rowley and Newbury. If you look at a local map and follow
the north branch Parker R, west until it peters out into a narrow "stream"
with a fork, that is the Egypt. parts of it continue into Ipswich.

Subject to correction/clarification by someone on the ground at Rowley/Ipswich.

Now ask me what time it is and I'll tell you how to make a watch : >)
