Seems William, the gent of Marblehead found his second and third wife in Lynn,

William Kentisbear [Capt intent], of Marblehead, and Hannah Ramsd[e]l married 24 Feb 1784, 2:216
William P Kantisbear and [Mrs. intent] Ruth Gooden married 29 Jan 1809, 2:214

Ruth died in Lynn......suggesting he lived in Lynn.
As you suggest, not unusual in that time to name a child for a respected person in the community.
