Subject: [MAESSEX] Would 2 -let alone 3- bros. each name first son Sam.

I have stumbled upon birth records strongly suggesting that
THREE sons of a Samuel, Samuel, James, John, EACH named
their first son SAMUEL.
This by itself is causing me to consider rethinking my very strongly
based working frame of reference that they were brothers.
One of the Samuels was baptised in Salem Ma, Jan 27, 1771,
one of them baptized in Portland Maine Mar 22, 1772, and the
third was born in Durham Maine (about 25 miles from Portland)
in 1780.
The one born in Portland Maine died young but a later son
was ALSO given the name Samuel.
Soooo, can somebody point at clear vital records where brothers
named their sons after their father?
By the way, the 'grandfather' of these three Samuels died in 1767.

*The brothers' father Samuel died in 1767.
thankyou
Ralph
