Rev. William Thompson and wife Phillis died in Westbury Leigh, Wilts.,
England C: 1623. They had a grandchild, son of Samuel Thompson, D D, named
William who came with his aunt and uncle, John and Elizabeth Thompson
Cogswell, to Ipswich C: 8/15/1635. They all settled in Ipswich, Essex Co.,
Mass.
My line ended up in Marblehead.
I will bet your line possibly came from William or one of his family who may
have come over.

Thank you Steve & Diana for info on William Thompson & also to those who
speculated on 3rd, 4th etc.
My next step will be to get the marriage license for Wm & Lydia in an effort
to narrow down their parents.
I am especially interested in how these Thompsons came to Marblehead and
where they came from if anyone has them in their genealogies.
Thanks again for your help & for the very interesting forum.
Kathy
