Folks since the surname GOLDTHWAITE started in the colony's at Roxbury
and Salem I wanted to announce that a new list for their surname has
just begun. I appears that everyone who has this surname in their
pedigree can be traced back to one couple and their two of three
children in Salem, Essex County, Mass. As the administrator to this new
list I also own the Goldthwaite first edition genealogy by Charlotte
Goldthwaite printed and published in 1898.

OK, good news: your mailing list is ready to roll. Briefly (very),
people can subscribe to your list in mail mode by sending a message
to that contains the word

subscribe

and nothing else. If they prefer digest mode, they should send the
command instead to . To unsubscribe,
they should send the command "unsubscribe" to
(if in mail mode) or (if in digest mode.)
To switch from one mode to the other, they should unsubscribe from one
and then subscribe to the other. There is no "no mail" mode -- if they
want messages to stop, they should simply unsubscribe. (Suggestion:
use these commands to subscribe to GOLDTHWAITE-L, as no one at all is currently
subscribed, and then send a test message through. Take your list
for a test drive, in other words.)

To post to both GOLDTHWAITE-L and GOLDTHWAITE-D, messages should be sent to
. Messages sent there will appear both places.

Not everyone will be able to follow the directions for subscribing/
unsubscribing. You'll find out about them because they'll ask you for help,
or because SmartList will forward their messages to you as something
it couldn't understand. (It's amazing what SmartList doesn't understand,
but don't get me started on that.) Anyhow, you can add/delete people
from GOLDTHWAITE-L and GOLDTHWAITE-D by using the URL:

One further comment if you as a subscriber to this list decide to change mail addresses please unsubscribe from this list then subscribe again using your new address.
