I am the Admin for the Essex County Message Board. Occasionally I receive
requests, and sometimes demands that I change the Subject lines people choose
to put on their messages.
Recently I had two objections by the same person who hasn't read the message
request closely -- that of a cemetery email address which has nothing to do
with the names listed in the body of the message. The names are unnecessary
info.
The topic of the message IS the email address of a local cemetery, and the
purpose is just that. The writer did what she was supposed to do.
I have written to her to suggest that she put in another message listing the
names. This is how I handle these isssues.
When you consider your Subjects in your messages, be sure to put the real
purpose of your message there.
Sometimes we receive "HELP PLEASE I AM DESPERATE!!!!!" I doubt anyone reads
these flaming requests. I dump them from my own mailbox. I usually dump
the Message.
If you are searching for info for JOHN ALDEN, for example, put that name in
the Subject.
The Message Boards are valuable; let's respect their purpose.
