If she is listed in the SSDI I would send for her Social Security
information that should give you her parents names.

Subject: [MAESSEX] Question about birth documentation

Dear List,

I have a question...What do you do if you can't find birth documentation?

I have a g grandmother Ella Mabel Woodbury. She was born 5 May 1886 (ssdi).
I have her parents listed as George Woodbury and Sarah Maria Wildes. She
was supposedly born in Rowley (I don't know where that came from). Her
siblings Anson, Arthur and Sarah were all born in Georgetown. I can find
all of them in the vital records. I can find nothing of Ella. Ella doesn't
even show up on the 1900 census with her parents, she would only be 14.

My g grandmother was the one who passed on the information about her
parents. Not specific info like dates of birth, but family lore. Such as
the fact that Woodbury isn't really their last name. George Woodbury was
actually born George Fogg. He used the name Woodbury so he could fight in
the civil war. Turns out that info is true. Verified on ancestry civil war
records. Ella is also included in "Samuel Fogg, 1628-1672 his Ancestors and
Descendants: compiled by Phyllis O Whitten" though there isn't a source.

I just find it very weird that all the other children have documented
births, but yet Ella doesn't. Any suggestions as to what I should do now?
I have done a lot of research on the Fogg family and the Wildes, but I am
reluctant without actual proof to include them in my "tree".

Look forward to any suggestions....

Michelle
