Look in the 1900 Census on Ancestry for Alice Fitzgerald born 1856. If
she had been married in 1910 for 36 years and married at age 18, her
husband had probably recently died and should be in the 1900 Census.
There is no Alice Fitzgerald born 1856 in MA in the 1880 census.

I believe that the number of years married was supposed to be filled in
only for married people.
