In 1936 I used to ride my bike after school from Melrose to Winchester to
see my friends after we had moved. I came back home in Melrose just at
dark.
Before that in 1934 I did the same thing when we moved from Arlington to
Winchester. It was nothing for one my age which was 12 to 14 years old
